Pleated bottoms look great because they slim out the legs. They are fitted at the right spots (right on the waist) and look great on everyone. Pleated shorts work so well because they are not tight like denim shorts can be, so they don't point out trouble spots on the thighs (which we all have). I love these pastel-y floral ones and the top I chose lines right up with it pattern wise. The top is not screaming with pattern but it has the right amount to match the bottom. You could pair the bottom with a plain top as well, try pulling out the darker hues in the pattern like the maroon and use that as a top or a plain black, tan, or white looks great. The top can be paired with black pants, but if you are looking to make it fancier then try putting the top with a pleated pant to give it an office appropriate look. Designers are all about pairing a more casual/sporty top with a fancier bottom, and this would be an easy way to cover that look. For shoes I paired these lovely open loafers with the ensemble but they can also be paired with almost everything (flowy shorts, pleated bottoms, skinnies, etc). I would stay away from a necklace since there is already stuff going on on the top but a ring or bracelet would be good.
