Differing Patterns
The notion that black and blue or differing patterns do not mix together no longer holds true. Black and blue can be paired together when done correctly and the same goes with patterns. Here, I put a pair of high waisted shorts that have a great blue, black and white pattern with a striped light jumper. The colors in the shorts work together because they are all bold and blended. It is the right tone of blue to be paired with black. A deep navy or a light sky blue work well with black because they contrast the black giving an overall bold look. I would stay away from pairing black with a royal blue as the tones do not work well together. As for the patterns, mixing patterns will work as long as you are confident about it. Here, the pattern in the shorts are more scattered so when paired with the polished stripes the outfit comes together. For shoes I love these plain loafers that can be worn with all your outfits, jeans, boyfriend jeans, black skinnies etc. Due to the double pattern, I kept the accessories simple with a pair of gold bracelets, a classic gold watch, and aviators. I finished the ensemble off with this bag that comes with a strap making it the perfect bag to wear to the office or to carry your books at school.  This look is perfect for late Spring, Summer, and even into the beginning of Fall.
